What is Sports Therapy?

Sports Therapy has its origin in Sport massage and Physiotherapy. It uses combination of manual therapies to treat musculoskeletal conditions.  This is not limited to sports injuries; it extends to back pain and joint issues.  Sports Therapists offer pain clinics to help with muscular problems that can come from work, sport, or everyday life.

How can Sports Therapy benefit the clients at Kate Campbell Fitness?

Do you have a pain or a niggle that will not go away?  Have you been working from home slumped over the laptop and have upper back pain?  Have you rolled your ankle and it has not been the same since? Do you suffer from Sciatica or Plantar Fasciitis? Are you an older adult needing support getting movement into joints? Are you a pregnant mother with wrist, back and hip pain? Are you a new mum needing support with posture and muscle stiffness?

These are only a handful of the things’ sports therapy can help with. By using a range of appropriate techniques if you have muscular issue sports therapy can be an effective tool for pain management and exercise prescription.

What to expect?

In your appointment we will do a posture assessment, alongside any manual treatment that may be useful to the condition.  This can range from sports massage, trigger point therapy, peripheral joint mobilisations, soft tissue mobilisations and release, and muscle energy techniques. The further into my studies the more the list will grow.
